Sautéed Kale Recipe

Kale is one of the healthiest vegetables you can eat, and has been touted to support detoxification in the body, as well as associated with risk-lowering benefits of cancer. Health aside, it can also be delicious! El Gaucho Portland Executive Chef Steve Cain has created this easy, no-guilt recipe that is sure to become one of your favorite go-to side dishes.

INGREDIENTS:

  • ¼ cup Chablis Wine
  • ¼ oz Pine Nut
  • 1 oz Golden Raisins
  • 1 pinch Red Pepper Flake
  • 2 tsp Peeled Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbls Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 bunch Kale, stems removed and chopped

DIRECTIONS:
Heat olive oil in medium sauté pan until it starts to shimmer. Add kale, garlic, and red pepper flakes and sauté until kale starts to wilt. Add wine and raisins and let wine reduce. The kale should be cooked but still have texture to it. Garnish with pine nuts and serve immediately.

    Kale is my fave side dish in addition to its delishhhh potato scallops and El Gaucho’s to die for Caesar Salad that compliments my fave lamb and any cut of steak. We’ve been coming and going there as one of our finest choice steak restaurant!
