Executive Chef Jesus’ Tequila Caramelized Onions

El Gaucho Tacoma’s Executive Chef, Jesus Boites, shares one of his favorite recipes: Tequila Caramelized Onions.


  • 2oz.      Butter
  • 2 ea.     Sliced Onion
  • 1 tsp.    Gaucho Seasoning
  • 1 oz.      Tequila
  • Pinch   Parsley


  1. Heat sauté pan with butter until melted.
  2. Cook onion over low heat until browned.
  3. Add Tequila to caramelize onions.
  4. Finish with Gaucho Seasoning and chopped parsley for garnish.
  5. Serve on top of your favorite steak, or simply as a side!
