El Gaucho Signature Event, Legendary SWIRL, Goes Big

Discover a new shining star in the world of wine at Legendary SWIRL, El Gaucho Seattle’s annual wine event, on Saturday, January 25th. This signature event is going big this year by adding extraordinary wines from around the globe, in addition to the local wine favorites you’ve come to expect from this award-winning event.

“I’m incredibly excited about this year’s SWIRL,” says James Parsons, El Gaucho Seattle’s wine captain. “We’ve completely reimagined this event and what it’s about. While we’re continuing to highlight local producers, we are showcasing some of the best wineries on planet earth. We get to show our guests something they haven’t tried before, and most of the wines are available for retail sale, at very compelling price.”

Of course, there will be a lot of great food for guests to nibble between quaffs. Executive Chef Matt Brandsey will be providing signature Gaucho bites and new creations, and Taylor Shellfish will be shucking oysters.

Going big for the event is more than the depth and breadth of wines offered, but also the incredible addition of 3 Winemaker dinners and a distillery dinner following the tasting event. Stag’s Leap, The Grape Killers, the Wines of Agustin Huneeus, and Tatoosh Distillery will be the hosts.

“While I’m excited about the tasting, the dinners are going to be incredible!” Parsons explained, Quintessa and Faust winemaker Charles Thomas, Stag’s Leap new winemaker Marcus Notaro, (a fun return since his departure from Col Solare), and The Grape Killers, with winemakers from Sparkman Cellars, Baer Winery, and Guardian Cellars, will surely make for an energetic evening. If your palate is ready for something else to try, then plan to attend the Tatoosh Distillery dinner, with founders Troy Turner and Mark Simon.

The dinners show off the culinary team at El Gaucho Seattle and Chef Brandsey, highlighting unexpected dishes executed with traditional Gaucho flair.

You would think getting into an event like this might be exclusive, or “invite only,” but it’s open to anyone. With three levels of participation, guests have the option of joining us for the tasting event ($85/person), winemaker dinner ($160/person), or take advantage of both ($215/person). Valet is complimentary for all attendees.

When you consider that Quintessa and Ornellia sell for upwards of $300/bottle on a wine list, it’s an incredible value that only comes along once a year. No extra charge for star-gazing!
