Meet Terianne Broyles, El Gaucho Tacoma General Manager

Terianne Broyles’ favorite Maya Angelou quote perfectly describes her approach to life and her hospitality career. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” As the new General Manager of El Gaucho Tacoma, she looks forward to ensuring each guest feels truly special.

Terianne grew up in Lewiston, ID and went to high school and community college in the Tri-Cities, WA, where she graduated with a degree in Management Studies. She has been in the hospitality business for over 25 years and has been described as a leader throughout her career. Her first management position was with the Inn at the Park in Spokane, Washington, running restaurant operations for the hotel’s two restaurants. She quickly fell in love with the entrepreneurial side of the business and the pace, energy, and people. She realized restaurants were her life’s purpose and began working at Salty’s restaurants. During her twenty years with the company, she held different roles including Corporate Trainer & General Manager.

Most recently, Terianne has been working in the real estate industry, but her passion for serving people brought her back to the restaurant business. Terianne has been married to her rock & soul mate, Mark for 35 years. She has one son, Dylan, who recently graduated from law school. Terianne is an animal advocate with two King Charles Cavaliers, appropriately called her “fur babies.” She loves living in the abundance of the beautiful northwest, and spending time in the great outdoors. Her favorite place to hang out is Mount Rainer, where you’ll typically find her hiking, and running trails.

Terianne’s favorite book is The Omnivores Dilemma by Michael Pollan and says that it gave her a great appreciation for the food we grow, cook & eat.  She says, “I support the slow food movement which covers best practices regarding buying local food, traditional cooking using real ingredients and preserving our environment.”

Terianne is truly inspired by the passionate and highly skilled staff and management who make El Gaucho such a unique institution. She looks forward to playing her own part in carrying on El Gaucho’s reputation for excellence. Terianne says that she wakes up every day with an appreciation for today, and an excitement to help others celebrate their day.     I have enjoyed Terianne’s hospitality for years at Salty’s on Redondo. El Gaucho Tacoma and Salty’s are my go to places!
    So happy to have you in Tacoma!
